ABSTRACT

Prostate cancer is a common malignancy in men, but rarely metastases to the ureter. A 68-year-old patient with ureteral metastases of prostate cancer was admitted to the hospital due to left lumbar and abdominal pain one month. Enhanced CT examination of urinary system after admission: mass in the middle of left ureter; multiple enlarged pelvic, retroperitoneal and left groin lymph nodes. After admission, the patient's PSA was 69.4 ng/ml, a prostate transrectal needle biopsy showed acinar adenocarcinoma. Under ureteroscopy, a smooth hard mass was seen 15 cm from the left ureteral orifice and completely obstructed the left ureter, the biopsy pathology showed infiltration of heteromorphic cell mass, and tumor could not be excluded. Laparoscopic ureteral tumor resection + end to end ureteral anastomosis was planned and intraoperative freezing was performed to determine the nature of the tumor. Due to severe adhesion around the tumor, partial nephrectomy, ureter and cystectomy were performed. The postoperative pathological diagnosis was ureteral metastasis of prostate cancer. The patient was treated postoperatively with abiraterone and goseririn for prostate cancer. CT examination 6 months after surgery showed multiple pelvic and retroperitoneal lymph node enlargement disappeared.

ABSTRACT

At present,no consensus has been reached on the methods of dissection of lymph nodes in radical resection of esophageal carcinoma,especially the number and range of lymph node dissection after neoadjuvant therapy,and the sensitivity of the number of lymph node dissection to the pathological N stage after neoadjuvant therapy is low.Therefore,the significance of lymph node dissection needs to be further confirmed.The dissection of the chest lymph nodes is necessary,regardless of the method of lymph node dissection.According to the American Joint Commission for Cancer(AJCC)/Union for International Cancer Control(UICC)and the Japan Esophagus Society(JES)standards,Chinese expert consensus on mediastinal lymph node dissection in esophagectomy for esophageal cancer(2017 edition)puts forward the Chinese standard of the thoracic lymph node grouping of esophageal carcinoma in order to meet the practical needs of Chinese patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the correlation between inflammatory cells, body temperature changes, and TCM syndromes of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) patients in acute and subacute phases. Methods The data of age, gender, body temperature, blood routine, venous ultrasonography, and four diagnostic information of 130 DVT patients in acute and subcute phases were collected and analyzed in a cross-sectional study. The correlation between inflammatory cells and the changes of body temperature and TCM syndromes were analyzed. Results Among 130 DVT patients, 37 patients had damp-heat syndrome, 64 patients had blood stasis and dampness syndrome, and 29 patients had qi stagnation syndrome. Neutrophils increased most obviously in blood stasis and dampness syndrome (P<0.05), which had close correlation with the skin redness (OR=1.287, 95%CI: 9.412-21.247). The mononuclear cells increased most obviously in the damp-heat syndrome, which has close correlation with nouhof (OR=7.364, 95%CI:1.189–45.603), high skin temperature (OR=6.683, 95%CI:1.791–24.938), skin tightness (OR=6.107, 95%CI:1.423–26.203) and weakness (OR=3.302, 95%CI: 1.002–9.169). The temperature rising was the most common in the damp-heat syndrome, and the increase of mononuclear cells was the most common one. Conclusion DVT is often accompanied with elevated levels of inflammatory cells and body temperature. Damp-heat syndrome has close correlation with body temperature and mononuclear cells increasing. Dampness and blood stasis syndrome and neutrophils are closely related.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of Wenxin Particle combined with amiodarone in the treatment of premature ventricular beats.Methods 78 cases with premature ventricular beats were divided into observation group(n=40)and control group(n=38).The observation group was treated with Wenxin Particle and amiodarone,the control group was treated amiodarone with only.The improvement of clinical symptoms and premature ventricular beats and the side effects were observed.Results Total effective rate was 78.94% in control group,92.50% in observation group.There was a significantly statistical difference between two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion Wenxin Particle combined with amiodarone in treating premature ventricular beats can improve the clinical effect and have no obvious side effect,so it is worth being used widely.

ABSTRACT

To determine whether smaller tumor size is associated with less-aggressiveness in renal cell carcinoma [RCC]. Series records of 505 patients diagnosed with RCC were retrospectively reviewed and the data concerning tumor size and pathological information were extracted and analyzed. Five hundred and eight RCCs were identified. The mean tumor size was 5.02 +/- 2.70 cm. No correlation was detected between the size of tumor and the histological subtype. The overall nuclear grade distribution was 57.1% and 42.9% for low-grade and high-grade disease, respectively. Each 1 cm increase in tumor size was associated with a significant increase in the odds ratio of high-grade disease by 1.46. 91.1% were found low-stage lesions and the odds ratio for the association of high-stage disease with each 1 cm increase in tumor size was 1.67. Multinomial models revealed that each 1 cm increase in the tumor size was associated with a 35% increase in renal capsule involvement and 66% renal vascular invasion. The cut-off point of tumor size in renal vascular invasion was 5.6 cm. Tumor size is not an independent predictor for the histological subtype of RCC. However, it is closely correlated to histopathological features, with the indications that the greater the tumor size, the more aggressive potential the RCC is

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the syndrome factors of leukoaraiosis patients with mild cognitive impairment (LACI), thus providing evidence for syndrome typing.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The prospective schedule was adopted including 103 LACI patients (as the LACI group) and 100 leukoaraiosis patients without mild cognitive impairment (as the control group). Syndrome factors were extracted from the patients' symptoms with frequency statistics and factor analysis.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Fifteen common factors were extracted from the LACI group, and 12 common factors from the control group. After analyzed the distribution of syndrome factors in the LACI group, the most common factors were ranked as follows: yang deficiency (33.98%), phlegm (22.33%), yin deficiency (19.42%), qi deficiency (10.68%), fire (9.71%), blood deficiency and blood stasis (3.88%). As for the control group, the most common factors were ranked as follows: yang deficiency (31.00%), qi deficiency (27.00%), yin deficiency and fire (24.00%), blood deficiency and blood stasis (12.00%), phlegm and yang deficiency and blood deficiency (6.00%).</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>The main syndrome factors of LACI were yang deficiency, phlegm, yin deficiency, and fire. The secondary syndrome factors were qi deficiency, blood deficiency, and blood stasis. It was mainly involved with Shen and Pi, with secondary organs as Gan and Xin. Deficiency syndrome is its pathogenesis. Phlegm and fire, and other pathological factors are essential for its development and aggravation, with more syndrome factors accompanied in complex condition.</p>

@#Objective To observe the effect of Sinisan on the learning and memorial ability and the expression of synaptohydin in the hippocampus of exercise-fatigue rats. Methods Rats were made into the fatigue model by Exhaustive Swimming. Learning and memorial ability of the rats were observed by moving-back with current stimulation experiment; expression of synaptohydin protein in hippocampus of exercise-fatigue rats treated with Sinisan for 10 days were detected by immunohistochemistry technique and compared to control group and model group.Results The moving-back time and the error times of the exercise-fatigue rats as follows: model group(73.00±61.96) s/(1.67±1.15), control group(144.25±57.14) s/(0.50±0.80),Sinisan group (166.17±47.92) s/(0.38±0.49). Comparison of mean optical density of synaptohydin protein in hippocampus of rats in different groups as follows: control group (0.2636±0.10654) and Sinisan group (0.2555±0.163380) were higher than the model group (0.0474±0.1837)(P<0.05). The synaptohydin staining Results showed that synaptohydin-positive granules around the neuron in hippocampus of rats in control group were the darkest and densest, the Sinisan group were darker than the model group rats.Conclusion Sinisan could improve the learning and memorial ability and increase the synaptohydin protein in the hippocampus of the exercise-fatigue rats.

ABSTRACT

To better understand the cleavage efficiency of muhiribozyme system on its RNA substrate in the presence and absence of divalent magnesium and monovalent sodium ions.we constructed pGEM-Coat'A,pGEM-Coat'A196Rz plasmids and pGEM-MDRl target plasmid.They were applied to transcribe RNAs with SP6/T7 transcription kit.Cleavage reactions were carried out in cell-free system and reaction products were analyzed by electrophoresis on 6% denaturing polyacrylamide gels in TBS buffer.The gels were dried and exposed to X-ray films for autoradiography.The Image J software was employed to analyze the dried gels.The results indicated that the cleavage efficiency of the muhiribozyme was dependent on the concentration of divalent Mg2+.The cleavage products increased with the concentrations of divalent Mg2+ and were Mg2+ concentration and time dependent.No cleavage product was obtained in the presence of lower than 200 mmol/L Na+ alone.On the contrary,monovalent Na+ inhibited the Mg2+ -induced cleavage reaction in Na+ and Mg2+ coexistance.The cleavage rate was significantly lower than that observed with divalent Mg2+ alone.These results suggested that divalent Mg2+ was required for muhiribozyme on substrate cleavage reaction in the physical condition,whereas monovalent Na+ was not.

ABSTRACT

Three pSIREN-siRNA plasmids were constructed using a pSIREN-RetroQ vector to silence the expression of muhidrug resistance-associated protein (MRP1) gene, and subsequently characterized by restriction endonuclease digestion and DNA sequencing. A truncated MRP1 and a full-length MRP1 were cloned into pEGFP-N2 and PeDNA3.1 respectively as pEGFP-MRP1T and pcDNA-MRP1. The plasmid pEGFP-MRP1T was co-transferred with each of the three pSIREN-siRNAs into HEK293 cells for MRP1T-GFP targeted silencing, and pSIREN-siRNA1 was used as the negative control, pSIREN-siRNA2 and pSIREN-siRNA3 appeared to be more effective to silence MRP1T-GFP compared to pSIREN-siRNA1 as shown by fluorescence microscopy. For the silencing of full-length MRP1 expression, HEK293 ceils were co-transferred with pcDNA-MRP1 and either of the three pSIREN-siRNAs, then subjected for Western blot analysis and MTT assays, pSIREN-siRNA2 and pSIREN-siRNA3 were able to inhibit the expression of 190 kD MRP1, but not pSIREN-siRNA1. The MDR of MRP1-transfected HEK293 ceils was abolished with pSIREN-siRNA2 or pSIREN-siRNA3 transfections. RNA secondary structure predictions demonstrated that the mRNA local free energy (△G) of the siRNA1 targeted sequence was lower, as the GC content and Tm value of siRNA1 were higher than those of siRNA2 and siRNA3. These data suggest that the local structure siRNAs and target mRNA may influence the silencing efficiency of MRP1 expression.
